Giles Cameras are specialist in telescopes, microscopes and photographic equipment. The business originated in 1932 having its roots in a Chemist Shop. Giles Cameras further developed in 1996 when the pharmacy closed and since then has continued to go from strength to strength. This family business has always employed helpful experienced staff with the expertise and patience to help with all your photographic needs.
Giles Cameras market presence have allowed us to build strong relationships with key manufactures in the industry as seen by the fact that Giles Cameras have been approved to sell the Leica range of products. What this means for our customers is that we can provide unbiased advice across the full range of products available and if we don't carry the item you need in stock, we are often able to obtain it within a day or two.
Giles Cameras carries a wide range of new and used equipment and has accumulated a vast stock of photo accessories. If you want the unusual or difficult items you'll probably find them at Giles Cameras.
Fred and Eve are the key members at Giles Cameras and between them have over 70 years experience in photography.
Fred
Fred has never been far away from a camera as his family has always taken photographs for as long as he can remember. Fred has a keen interest in all aspects of photography but has strong leanings towards portraiture, landscape, macro, studio work and black and white printing. Over the years Fred has attended many practical courses, lectures and seminars on photography and is still active in local clubs where his experience is often sought after.
Eve
A Person with a great deal of camera business experience. She has worked in the long established Patience Cameras of Southend for over 20 years. She is now able to help with compact cameras and Digital in particular.
What Do We Do?
Giles Cameras are stockists of all major manufacturers of cameras, telescopes, microscopes, binoculars and accessories. We are particularly proud to be approved stockists of the Leica range of products.
As a family style business our highly trained and experienced staff take time and pride in offering unbiased advice and in understanding the needs of our customers before making any recommendations.
Giles Cameras are also among the few specialist centres for microscopes and can cater for the needs of both the amateur and the professional.
